The new Family Kàro is the latest evolutionary stage of our great cargo bike. With revised geometry and a curved frame, it is now even more beautiful and wider in use. Our revised geometry ensures that the bike now fits more universally - from 1.65 m to 2 m tall. In addition, we have fundamentally revised the stand and made it more stable.
All changes in detail:
New geometry / New cockpit
Many of our customers have told us over the past 5 years that they would like a frame that fits more universally. Our Family Kàro in particular is often used by several people, some of whom are very different in size.
In addition, the riders of the Family Kàros wanted a more upright seating position and more comfort.
We have taken this feedback and revised the geometry of our popular Family Cargobike. The new frame now fits people from 1.65 m to 2 m. Through the adjustments of stem and setback of the seatpost we can find a good solution for small people and also large.
So the new frame fits our two, not tall, managing directors Jap (165 cm) and Stathis (170 cm) as well as our welder Thorben (190 cm).
To achieve a more upright Sitzpositzion have, the head tube is now mounted higher. This eliminates the "spacer towers" often desired by customers in the past.
The new frame looks so slightly larger than the old and has a slightly longer top tube, but the ride comfort for both small and large people is now guaranteed.

New attachments
The new frame is now altogether larger than our old frame in size M. So that the frame is not too big now we equip this cargo bike now with other components than before:
- Ergotec handlebar with 30 ° backsweep
- Stem with 50mm
This allows us to achieve the same reach as with our previous frame. However, with a more upright, and from many customers desired seating position.
New cable steering
With our Gravel Kàro we have fundamentally revised our cable steering and this completely integrated into the tubes of our cargo bike. This way we achieve an even cleaner look.
This new patented steering system now also ensures the precise driving feel in the Kàro Family. As before, this is of course redundant!
Bent Tubes
Our new curved top tubes, which we introduced with the Gravel Kàro, are a feast for the eyes. It makes the front of the cargo bike look even more "rounded" and makes the cargo area in front just beautiful.
However, the bent tubes are also structurally more stable. This makes the cargo bike stiffer and less susceptible to twisting. This makes you even sportier on the road and your power is not lost in twists of the frame.
Revised cargo bike stand
The Family Kàro in particular must have a stable stand. When the children get in and out, it can sometimes go wild. We have therefore fundamentally revised the stand and this is now really extremely stable.
In addition, the new mechanism ensures that it now really folds up automatically every time!
No more Neodrives V8 battery
With the changeover to the new frames, we are no longer offering cargo bikes with V8 battery. Even if the built-in battery in the cargo bed is tempting, the production of the frame adapted for it takes much more time.
Since we manufacture all our frames in our own workshop, we currently only have a certain capacity. Our welders need 25% more time to shoot the V8 battery. By switching to the V2 battery, we can increase production and meet the increased demand.
Conclusion
The new Velo Lab Family Kàro Cargobike is the evolution of our popular Family Kàros. We have listened to feedback from our customers and made adjustments to the geometry, stand and attachments to make the bike more comfortable and upright for all riders.
We also replaced the V8 battery with a V2 battery to increase production capacity and thus deliver outstanding cargo bikes faster.
